Started in August 1993
I started teaching in August 1993. Our club was the Peninsula Bootscooters and we had classes at Avalon, Manly, Killarney Heights, Forestville and Palm Beach in NSW. We did a lot of demos back in the day including rodeos and supporting the Red Cross Charity Appeal at the Opera House with Anne Sanders of Channel 7 (below).
We've received Club of the Year Award, I’ve had a print of my boot immortalized in cement and I was recently honored to receive the Joe McManamon Memorial Award for contribution to the community.

For 4 years up until 1999 we acted and danced in Mary Lopez's production of "An Australian Christmas". We played the parts of roman soldiers, street beggars and merchants after which we changed into our clothes to line dance.
The show featured featuring Felicity, Col Buchanon, Anne Kirkpatrick and was televised on Channel 2 on Christmas Day. Have a look at our fun video.
I am still teaching these days, but only as a volunteer. Here's our Seniors Group.

Thank you for viewing my contribution to the History of Line Dance Australia.
